Day 5 = resistance

Today's training consisted of a 16 minute Walk/Run. 1 minute of walking followed by a minute of running and repeat 8 times.  Let me remind all my readers that I have not RAN since Oh Junior Year in High School- Senior Summer during morning practices for Dance Team...that was 8 years ago! I did great the first half but the second half I really had to push, and my left knee started hurting and felt like it was cracking! LOL

Highs: I Walk/Ran a mile in 15 1/2 minutes, I burnt 142 cals and completed it!
Lows: I suck...bad! As I was running I started thinking in 11 1/2 weeks I will have to run 3.1 miles, am I really going to be able to do this? Doubting myself is something I have to learn to stop, It usually holds me back and makes me revert to old ways. I know that this will get better over time, I just need to stay positive!

A Happy note: My mom said she noticed that I looked like I had lost weight already :)

Yesterday I did my Yoga and 10 min walk. That Yoga Dvd is serious! My body was and still is sore from the first day on Monday, but I was able to hold some moves longer, complete whole reps but also some positions I could not stick. I know that those will get easier with time as my body gets stronger. I also noticed that by taking my vitamins I have a lot more energy and was even wanting to work out again with Chris when he got home. I just need to keep up my motivation, and take it one day at a time!

~Vitamins and supplements~

I decided to wait on any weight loss supplements like protein powders and fat burners. 1. They make me jittery and 2. This process isn't something I started to loose weight fast but to create change in my life and learn how to eat and exercise my body. But I do have a couple of vitamin and mineral supplements I take. The ones I picked I choose for personal reasons. The first one I take is a Multivitamin. Which everyone should take to make sure your body gets the nutrients it needs to function. In my nutrition class I have learned a lot about vitamins and minerals our bodies need that we may not have realized. I also learned that a lot of minerals our bodies need are in true forms that never change. Like the sodium in salt is the same sodium found in the earth. Just like magnesium is that which is found in the earths crust. True forms. Now I am not saying go out side and start licking rocks and ground them into powder and sprinkle on your food. Just take a multivitamin :)

The one I take is Equate Women's Pro-active multivitamin, and cost 6.00 at walmart, compared to one a day it has the exact same ingredients and levels. You only have to take 1 a day. The next supplement I take is Fish Oil. It is very beneficial as it contains Omega-3's, which is good for your brain, heart and even skin!  Just Click on Fish Oil to see detailed benefits :) his fish oil was 6.00 at walmart...they have a double bottle package for 9.00, you take 1 a with each meal (3 a day). The 3rd supplement I take is Cinnamon. Cinnamon helps break down sugars in your body so that your body doesn't store as many. Check out Cinnamon benefits Here (I choose this link because it mentioned K-State :) EMAW!!) You take 2 cinnamon pills 2x a day. The last supplement I take is Green Tea....green tea has benefits that include heart health and fights off disease. The best way to reap the benefits of Green tea is by Drinking it....but I cant stand the taste so I take it in pill form! Green Tea. Take 2 pill 2x a day, My green tea bottle was 3 or 4.00 at walmart! I have been taking these for 4 days now and I have noticed my energy has been higher, I feel more alert and less sluggish by mid day.

A little Surprised, A lot Apprehensive!

This morning I woke up and decided to weigh my self again....I know that I said I'd wait till the 15th but I just wanted to see if I was making any progress. On Sunday I weighed 187 lbs....WOW! Today I got on the Wii Fit to do a quick body test and it said I was down 11 lbs!!! 11. pounds. in 3 days! My lovely Wii board also reminded me that my last weigh in was at 2:35pm---after most of the day was over, and this morning I got on before I ate. Could this be right? Could I have really lost 11 lbs already? I know our bodies fluctuate 2 lbs during the day so for safe measure we will say I lost 9lbs. 9 lbs? WOW! If this is correct I am super excited and pleased to see my hard work paying off. Now I promise to wait till the 15th to do my weigh in.

For those who have Wii Fit, Is your board just as accurate?

Today's training includes 10 min of walking and yoga...maybe some JD2? I think my mom is going to do the 5k training program as well and then we will run a 5k together!! :)
